Nomad has been open since 2014 on Rahba Kedima, the old Spice Square, spread across four floors of what used to be a carpet store, with a multi-level rooftop terrace that's genuinely rare for the medina — most buildings there don't have the height or the access to offer real views, and Nomad's does, looking out over the medina rooftops toward the Atlas Mountains. The kitchen does modern Moroccan food (tagines and salads reworked with a contemporary hand), and the rooftop specifically is known as one of the better sunset spots in the old city, which is exactly why it's a natural fit for New Year's Eve searches: the setting alone does a lot of the work.

What to expect on the night

Nomad already runs a full day of service (noon to 11pm normally) and already recommends reservations for peak hours even on an ordinary night, so December 31 will be busier and almost certainly run on some kind of festive set menu rather than the usual à la carte lineup — restaurants generally simplify service on high-volume nights to keep things running smoothly. Getting there

The medina alleys around Rahba Kedima can be genuinely disorienting after dark, and Nomad's exact entrance isn't obvious from the main square — allow extra time to find it on your first visit, especially if you're relying on a phone map rather than local directions.
