Selman Marrakech New Year's Eve: What to Know Before You Book
What to realistically expect from a New Year's Eve at the Selman Marrakech, and what to confirm before booking.
Selman Marrakech New Year's Eve: What to Know Before You Book
The Selman is a Relais & Châteaux property just outside central Marrakech, best known for two things that set it apart from most of the city's other luxury hotels: an interior designed by Jacques Garcia in a formal, dark-and-gilded French-Moroccan style, and a working stable of Arabian horses visible from much of the property. It's a quieter, more design-forward alternative to the grand historic palaces, aimed at travelers who want strong architecture and a small-scale, intimate atmosphere over a big-name legacy hotel.
What to actually expect
Nobody outside the hotel can tell you its specific New Year's Eve menu, entertainment lineup, or price for a given year — properties at this level confirm December 31 details close to the date rather than publishing them far in advance. Based on the Selman's usual style, expect an elegant, formal dinner service in one of its dining rooms, likely with live music, in keeping with the hotel's generally understated, design-focused atmosphere rather than a large-scale party format. The specific inclusions, format, and price for whatever year you're planning are things only the hotel can confirm.
Before you book
Contact the hotel directly and get the details in writing before paying: what's included, cancellation terms, and dress expectations. Given the Selman's relatively small size compared to some of Marrakech's larger resorts, December 31 seating is worth securing well in advance.
Plan your Marrakech night, plan your desert trip too
We're MerzougaWay — a private desert-tour operator, not a hotel booking agent, so we have no relationship with the Selman and can't arrange a reservation there. What we can help with is the rest of a Morocco trip: if a Marrakech stay is part of a longer visit, a private multi-day tour to the Sahara dunes near Merzouga is worth building in either side of it.
