New Year's Eve in Agafay for Solo Travellers 2027

You Don't Have to Spend December 31 Alone

New Year's Eve is the hardest night of the year to be travelling solo. Every programme is designed for couples, groups, or families. The table next to you is full of people who came together. The midnight toast feels like something happening to other people.

Our Solo Traveller NYE in Agafay is designed specifically to fix this.

We curate a single shared group table for solo travellers and small groups (2–3 people) who want to spend December 31 in good company under the desert sky. You book a place at the table. We handle the rest: the desert setting, the dinner, the entertainment, the midnight moment. You show up as yourself, and you spend the evening with interesting people from around the world who made the same choice you did.

This is not a party bus. It is a proper dinner, in a beautiful setting, with a curated group of people who happen to be travelling alone.

Who Comes to This Programme

Past editions have included:

  • Solo travellers from the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and the US
  • People between 28 and 55 (the average age is around 38)
  • A mix of professionals who travel for work and people who travel to reset
  • Writers, photographers, entrepreneurs, teachers, and people who just needed to go somewhere different
  • Anyone who decided they would rather spend New Year's Eve somewhere new than somewhere familiar

The one thing everyone shares: they chose to be in Morocco alone on December 31, which tends to make for more interesting conversation than most dinner parties.

How the Table Works

We seat the group at a single long table — typically 12–20 people — positioned with the best view of the fire and the Atlas Mountains.

What we do:

  • Seat compatible people together (we read your booking notes)
  • Provide an ice-breaker at the start of dinner (optional, low-pressure)
  • Ensure the table has a mix of languages so people can actually talk to each other
  • Make sure nobody is left feeling like the odd person out

What we don't do:

  • Force you into group activities or icebreaker games
  • Pair you up romantically (this is a dinner, not a matchmaking event)
  • Put you at a table with a large noisy group that isn't interested in talking

The atmosphere aims for: a dinner at a friend's house where you don't know everyone yet.

  • Slow-cooked lamb méchoui carved at the table
  • Choice of tagine
  • Moroccan pastry dessert plate
  • Mint tea ceremony
  • Midnight champagne or sparkling grape juice toast

Alcohol: Bar available at camp. The group table has access to both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options throughout the evening.

Photography: The desert and the fire show are both stunning for photography. Tripods and wide-angle lenses are worth bringing if you shoot at night.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a "singles event" or dating-oriented? No. It is a curated dinner for people travelling solo who want good company. There is no romantic framing. Some people meet friends they stay in touch with. Some have a great dinner conversation and don't exchange numbers. Both are equally valid.

What if I'm shy or introverted? Most of the people who attend are not the loudest people in any room. The format makes conversation natural rather than forced — a shared plate of food at a long table in a beautiful setting does the social work for you. You don't have to perform.

Can I bring one or two friends and still join the group table? Yes. Small groups of 2–3 are welcome. We ask that you sit with the group rather than at a separate table, so the shared dynamic works. If you want a fully private table, see our main NYE programme.

Is there a maximum group size? Yes — the solo programme is capped at 20 seats to maintain quality of experience. This tends to fill by October.
